The Art of Inversions & Arm Balancing
This workshop shows practitioners how power moves from the core and into the shoulders to support your growth in enjoying inversions and arm balances.
You will be informed on the anatomy of core force transference and we will spend time playing ‘clean up’ with these movement patterns so that we are transferring our own core power into the shoulders.
This workshop is for all levels as the inversions and arm balances have many progressions which are useful for yourself as well as your students.

Jambo is a multi-disciplinary practitioner and facilitates sessions that are both educational and self-developing. As a Forrest Yoga Guardian & Mentor Teacher, he also holds a degree in Complementary Medicine with a special interests in diagnostic techniques.
Jambo spent the 1st part of his career working with addiction, sexual health, chronic pain and trauma. Using concepts from Traditional East Asian & Ayurvedic Medicine as a symptom management specialist. Currently he teaches internationally, passionately sharing the discovery compensation patterns and developmental physiology.
There is a large emphasis on using Ceremony & Meditation in all of his sessions because Jambo believes that you can not teach anatomy without involving the Spirit.

Our farm - a Portuguese manor house from the 16th century - comes with Atlantic Ocean view. The place has a very special energy. Take a refreshing dip in the outdoor saltwater swimming pool. Stroll through the peaceful arcades of the extensive gardens. Get energized and jump into the lagoon and enjoy the backdrop of a fresh waterfall cascading from the mountain. Nature`s beauty and lush greenery will calm your mind and rejuvenate your soul.
In this serene setting, we will practice two times per day.
Amanda and Mascha are co-teaching this 7-Days Yoga Retreat combining holistic Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation and Breathing Exercises and deep relaxing practices like Yoga Nidra and Thai Yoga Massage.

Surfers who want to surf can do so at Praia da Arda, a nearby surf spot. There are top waves for beginners and advanced.

Amanda is a professionally trained and certified advanced yoga instructor with over 1,000 hours of training in India by renowned yoga teachers and physiotherapists Simon Borg-Olivier and Bianca Machliss of the Synergy Yoga School. She has been teaching yoga since 2011.
Her style is a vinyasa flow class with the foundations of teaching grounded in the concepts of synergy yoga. This style uses techniques accessible to the modern body and alignment cues that move energy through the body in a way that reduces stress and builds strength.
Unique to this style:
-Emphasis on spinal movements from the core that free up all the vertebrates of the spine to enliven the body and counter bad posture in our daily lives
-Fluid transitions that can have a dance like feel to them
-Movements and poses that embody the sthira/sukham (steadiness with ease) yoga philosophy so the practice can flow like a moving meditation. It gives a soft feeling while
building strength in an intelligent way that does not add more stress to the body
-Strong emphasis on muscle co-activation (bandhas) which allow the student to gain access to all parts of the body to promote healing and a deeper mind/body connection
In addition to encompassing the concepts of synergy yoga, Amanda´s classes are constantly evolving as her knowledge grows and expands across yoga disciplines. Classes intertwine all aspects of the yoga discipline including healing breathing practices, meditation, and philosophy/mindfulness techniques that help ease the mind of daily life stresses.
Mascha studied Sport Science and is also a qualified Yoga Teacher and Bodyworker. She is teaching Yoga since 2005 and is running her own Vinyasa Yoga Studio Sukha Yoga in Cologne, Germany since 2012.
Mascha completed several Yoga and Yoga Therapy Teacher Trainings in India, Australia and Germany and also studied a lot about Ayurvedic Treatments, Thai Yoga Massage and different Bodywork and Relaxation techniques.
She is fascinated about the ways the human body can naturally move and includes all forms of spinal movements into her teaching.
Her holistic approach of Vinyasa Yoga combines Yoga Flow, Meditation, Pranayama, Restorative, Nada Yoga (Yoga of Sounds) and Yoga Nidra, so that Body, Mind and Soul can come to rest and gain new energy and health.
She also loves ceremonies and includes chanting into the daily routine to really incorporate all aspects of yoga.
